Journey of Light | Massimiliano Moro
Born in 1986 in Cittadella, Italy, Massimiliano Moro currently lives and works between Lugano and Barcelona. In his artistic practice, he seeks the creation of new equilibriums between light and architecture through the practices of design and sculpture. Its interdisciplinary methodology results in interventions that modify the perception of space.

In opening the site-specific solo exhibition "JOURNEY OF LIGHT" of the artist Massimiliano Moro in Espronceda, the curator welcomes everyone to come aboard for a journey in perception.
Journey of Light
ENG. Perception is essential to our ability to respond to the present moment, to discern what is real and what is possible. This experience redefines and reconstructs the relationship between light, shadow, the spectator, and existing structures. Simple elements, interacting with light and shadow, propel the viewer into a mode of reflection, engaging with space, time, and movement.
"Journey of Light" guides the spectator through two stages, moving from the familiar into a space where light, as a dynamic sculpture, generates transformative energy. Dark areas give way to precise illuminations, casting color and shape against the gallery’s architecture. Just as visitors begin to question and comprehend this new dimension, they are thrust into a heightened state of awareness upon entering the second space, where even larger sculptures and more dynamic uses of color, shadow, and form await. In this space, the viewer is freed from the need to analyze, finally able to simply observe and experience.
The once familiar, minimalist white space of the gallery transforms into a dynamic atmosphere, where time and dimension remind us to look where we normally do not, to see without trying to understand, and to witness the dialogue between light and the physical spaces we inhabit.
Reality no longer presents itself as a description of facts, but as a reflection in which experiences are mirrored. This reflection speaks to our deeper humanity in a world that constantly reminds us of the dangers of relying solely on what was once familiar.
Viaje de la Luz
ESP. La percepción es esencial para nuestra capacidad de responder al momento presente, de discernir lo que es real y lo que es posible. Esta experiencia redefine y reconstruye la relación entre la luz, la sombra, el espectador y las estructuras existentes. Elementos simples, en interacción con la luz y la sombra, impulsan al espectador a un modo de reflexión, interactuando con el espacio, el tiempo y el movimiento.
"Viaje de la Luz" guía al espectador a través de dos etapas, pasando de lo familiar a un espacio donde la luz, como escultura dinámica, genera una energía transformadora. Áreas oscuras dan paso a iluminaciones precisas, proyectando color y forma sobre la arquitectura de la galería. Justo cuando los visitantes comienzan a cuestionar y comprender esta nueva dimensión, son impulsados a un estado de conciencia elevado al entrar en el segundo espacio, donde les esperan esculturas aún más grandes y un uso más dinámico del color, las sombras y las formas. En este espacio, el espectador se libera de la necesidad de analizar, y al fin puede simplemente observar y experimentar.
El espacio minimalista blanco y familiar de la galería se transforma repentinamente en una atmósfera dinámica, donde el tiempo y la dimensión nos recuerdan mirar donde normalmente no miramos, ver sin intentar entender, y ser testigos del diálogo entre la luz y los espacios físicos que habitamos.
La realidad ya no se presenta como una descripción de hechos, sino como un reflejo en el que las experiencias se espejan. Este reflejo habla a nuestra humanidad más profunda en un mundo que nos recuerda cada día los peligros de confiar únicamente en lo que alguna vez fue familiar.
